It's been a rough couple of days for Hot 97's DJ Mister Cee. On Friday, the New York-based Disc jockey was arrested after he allegedly agreed to have sex for money with an undercover police officer posing as a prostitute.
With so many outlets reporting that the prostitute was male, on this morning (May 6), Cee took to the airwaves to dispute reports concerning his sexuality.
"I am not gay," Mister Cee told Hot 97 program director Ebro Darden when he appeared on the station's morning show before he announced that he will go on a self-imposed suspension.
According to Cee, who was born Calvin Lebrun, "before the arrest" he was approached by an undercover female police officer as he pulled his car over in Brooklyn to make a phone call. The female offered up sex, which Cee claimed he declined. But the radio personality said he was actually the victim of a "sting operation." "They tried to turn it around and say the female officer was a male officer. It was a sting operation," he maintained, again refuting the gay rumors.
A representative for the NYPD could not confirm the gender of the undercover officer with MTV News, but did tell us the popular disc jockey was charged with patronizing a prostitute in the third degree. Still, rumors of Cee's homosexuality have continued to run rampant.
"Let's say if I'm lying, that's my choice," Cee proposed, after a Hot 97 DJ began to play Aly-Us' "Follow Me," a '90s dance record often associated with the gay community. "If I'm lying and I chose not to come out, that's my choice."
You know we Trini's are famous impersonators, so let's see which local DJ will have a similar scandal next to his name.
