Bunji Garlin new track Carnival Tabanca destroyed Los Angeles

bunji and fay ann

Trinidadian soca artiste Bunji Garlin shocked many fans for carnival 2013 with his runaway hit single entitled, Differentology. But the track was just the beginning for the artiste who captivated the souls of listeners worldwide with his different flow on the track. The song was a collaborated effort with himself and Nigel Rohas of local Rock band Orange Sky.

But if Differentology was such a success, how would you class his latest track entitled “Carnival Tabanca”? The song was released last week and is already receiving lots of positive feedback from online fans, social media, fans and some Trinidad radio announcers. The song is being well circulated via the radio and seems to be giving Differentology some stiff “vibes" competition.

Bunji’s assistant manager Dexter Thomas told Goddess Promotions TT that the song was developed purely on vibes. He said Bunji was at the studio and the vibes was just released into the finished product which some are already calling "another big tune.”

We Ready! We Ready! Bunji FINALLY releases Differentology's music video

In more Bunji news, the singer will be headlining a show Thursday 27 th June at the St Kitts Music Festival. Bunji and Faye Ann will rock Warner Park Stadium, Basseterre accompanied by none other than Trinidad and Tobago Road March Champion Super Blue. The Differentology hit maker just returned to Trinidad eairlier this week from Los Angeles, USA after performing at a concert there. (Im pretty sure L.A. fans have a Bunji Tabanca) He posted this on his Asylum Family facebook fanpage:

That was one wicked event, last night. Thank you for the love LA. #CarnivalTabanca destroyed it literally. "Let me see you clap those hands!"

Thomas also said the former Soca Monarch winner and his team are currently doing some heavy touring. After St Kitts they head to Toronto and St John’s, U.S Virgin Islands.

Here are the locations for their next 6 days of touring.

  • 27th St Kitts Music Festival

We Ready! We Ready! Bunji FINALLY releases Differentology's music video

Haters will Hate but supporters will overpower the negative
Its finally here! For months Trinibagonians have been waiting patiently for the music video to compliment the mega hit track from Bunji Garlin's Differentology. As with everything new obviously the video is already stirring up a whole heap of comments and mixed views on You Tube, Facebook, Radio etc.
The video had only been released at 6am this morning 17th May 2013.
For those Trinidadians who didn't know or are too young to remember, back in the early days of carnival Viking Mas ruled the road along with other characters such as Moko Jumbies, Jab Jab, Midnight Robber just to name a few. The Mas art-form is constantly evolving thus has reached this stage of what people call "pretty mas" ( Panty and Bra )
Garlin's new video takes Carnival back to the initiation stages with his Viking concept in the beginning of the video along with the mud people representing Jouvert. "Boy did he pull it off." The interesting thing about this music video is "expect the unexpected" I'm sure people were expecting the video to be about an all out street parade with women dressed in the typical evolved carnival costumes parading through the streets of Trinidad.
However there is much more to carnival than a street party, and Bunji took us back a couple years to remind us where carnival started and where it is now with a clever mix and twist to the story. It's all about creativity.
The song in itself is creative and the music video is out of the box as it was completely unexpected and different.
The Video fused the old with the new in a different manner just like the song's name Diferentology
Check out two comments one negative and the other positive found on Youtube:
Negative comment "This video was very disappointing...the execution of the concept left a lot to be desired even though I like the idea...the video doesn't connect well it just seems to be a bunch of random ideas...this is a song, an epic song that reached to the core of the masses, made us feel to be one with carnival with our culture...planted vibes deep in our soul...the video fails miserably and capturing that imho"
Positive comment:
"Wicked Wicked! Lovin the old time mas and traditional characters representing the reveler of old...transitioning into to modern reveler...and walking away from the perceived battle (having already won) at the end."
What don't kill you only makes you stronger, to every negative there is a positive.

Asylum band headed by Bunji Garlin destroyed Couva with vibes

The Asylum band headed by Bunji Garlin and his dynamic wife Fay-Ann Lyons "literally destroyed" Couva last Friday.

What a better way to kill two birds with one stone, than to work, and have fun with friends while doing it.

The power couple were carded to perform an hour long set but according to media reports they also celebrated a close friend's birthday while at the venue.
The Renaissance Reloaded bar became the ideal birthday lime venue to celebrate their close friend's birthday bash.
The bar was transformed to a "vibes haven" as Bunji flattened the crowd with his run away track Differentology.
Tobago better brace for the storm as Bunji, Fay Ann and the Asylum band head to the sister isle for the Tobago Jazz Festival next Friday.

They will also be in the south land next weekend to kick start Point Fortin borough Day Celebrations.
