MX Prime dropped New music today

Trinidad Soca singer MX Prime better known as “Maximus Dan” has released a new single called EL CLASICO.

The track is available for download on Sound Cloud and is also available on You Tube.

This is what he tweeted:

The track is a bit different from prior Soca songs done by the artiste, but is all about the evolution of music. MX Prime is evolving along with the art-form as music world wide is taking new shape.

The track sound like a mixture of Techno and Soca. “Let’s just say I feel a rave coming.”

Prime is better known for his hit single Soca Warrior which became the anthem for the Trinidad and Tobago football team back in 2006 when they qualified for the world cup of that year.

Marlon Asher has singed with an Atlanta Record Lable

marlon asher

Trinidad and Tobago Reggae artist Marlon Asher is doing big things internationally.

Trinidadians may not be hearing much from the Ganga Farmer hit maker these days as he is busy touring and working on new music.

In case you haven’t heard, Marlon is currently signed with and international record label called, Clear Port Fly Records located in Atlanta U.S.A. His North American management team is now Three Cornerstone Management.

His personal manager told Goddess Promotions TT that Marlon wrapped up a Winter Tour with an “all-white” World Music band called Slightly Stoopid.

Thought the name may seem a bit weird these guys are far from stupid as they have over 1 million fans on paper view alone. The tour took Marlon to places like North America, British Colombia and Vancouver to name a few.

The singer recently returned from Costa Rica where he headlined a concert in San Jose.

Not only is he touring, but as mentioned before the Ganga Cowboy singer is also working on new music. He has a track with Hip Hop giant The Game, which his personal manager said will definitely turn heads. He also worked on a track with Demarco.

The manager pointed out that a track from Marlon's upcoming album was unfortunately leaked online; the song features vocals from R&B singer Kendric Lamar and Rapper Young Jeezy. Mr. Asher has definitely been busy but his manager is very instrumental in his success. His personal manager realized the potential of his artiste i.e. “ganga songs” in the U.S.A. where weed is legal in some states. We can safely say he practically dropped him in the middle of a weed plantation to grow into the great upcoming artiste he is today.

The Goddess Promotions TT team wished Mr. Asher and his team all the best in their endeavors.

Look out for his album release in December.

Fireball receiving International hits from new music video release!!

fireball

Rohan Fireball Richards has released his latest track on You Tube entitled, Take You There.

The track was written by the first ever Trinidad and Tobago Soca Star Winner Fireball himself who brought us hits like; What I Want and No Chorus featuring KMC. The song was released on the radio stations about two weeks ago, but has not been receiving much circulation.

The video was released on YouTube and at Synergy TV around the same time and is already receiving several hits both locally and internationally. Fans as far is India and France have already plugged the track. The music was produced by Sherif Music and the video was directed by Orange Peel Promotions and Klayne Films.

Earlier this year KMC vowed never to return to the soca arena via his Facebook page luckily Fireball isn't following suite. Though he may not return soon the "Take u There" singer will grace us with his soca talent once again.

The song has an international flavor and the video screams professionalism. But don't take my word for it, check it out...

Was Machel Montano bullied in school?

(c) Courtesy the Trinidad Express Newspaper

If you guessed yes, then you are right. The mega Trinidadian Super Star made this revelation recently.
Montano was a guest speaker at the launch of the Anti-Bullying Association of Trinidad and Tobago and its anti-bullying campaign, at the Moruga Secondary School when he made the statement.
He told the pupils that he was bullied in school and was also called “Trophy head” because of his ears. He also left them with some brotherly advice, urging them to be their brother’s keeper and to consider the ramifications of their actions.
Attorney Rondell Donowa who also attended the launch said that if laws are put in place then children of Trinidad and Tobago would be "scared straight" and stop bullying in school. He said the Government should draft a School Anti-Bullying Bill since it would be a “stepping stone in the right direction, as a solution to the problem of indiscipline and crime in schools and the wider society”.
Donowa also mentioned that schools were subjected to the laws of the land and assault, harassment and intimidation were offences which can result in suspension, expulsion or “being brought before the courts of the land and charged with an offence”.
Word on the street however, is that the surge of indiscipline stemmed from some legislation implemented by the current Prime Minister. "In February of 2001, then Education Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar pioneered legislation which led to a ban on corporal punishment in schools."
Nevertheless the law is the law, and one was banned to implement another which may result in the children going to a detention center, thus exposing them to even more violent children.

Who say's Caribbean music can't work together?

Dancehall duo RDX has been successfully  fusing Soca and Dancchall music for years.
"Now who would have thought that?."
Like Trinidadians who fuse our music with other types to make our music more marketable abroad, RDX have been doing the same with one twist, they fused our music. This just goes to show how powerful Soca music and Trinidad and Tobago culture is.
The duo has been working on reinventing themselves as they had been around for over five years. They were interview by Winford Williams of OnStage which is Jamaica's premier entertainment television show. While on the show last weekend RDX opened up about reinventing themselves last year, being underrated and launching a massive comeback.
“This past 12 months or so was an injection of a new RDX, a new creativity,” RDX member Renegade said.
“Basically when we came back in 2012 with the Mohawk and and the colored streaks and just reinventing ourselves and taking it back after the summer.”
RDX currently has a slew of hits bubbling on the airwaves including “Kotch,” “Broad Out,” “Mad Boss,” and more.

Reminder: The Bouncin' NEVER stops!

Super Blue Releases a brand new track
Austin ''SuperBlue'' Lyons has done it again, this time he released a new Soca track just in time for Point Fortin Borough Day.
The song entitled "Borough Day", was produced by Julian Juelio Nelson of Nu Generation Studios.
Could this song be as successful as Fantastic Friday? One could only wait and see, but one thing's for sure Point Fortin better watch out because the reigning Soca Monarch & Road March King is coming hard to the South land to mash up with this melodic track, which sounds nostalgic and sweet as us Trinis like to say.
But don't take our word for it, listen and you be the judge:
