Who said money cant by you freedom?

Well according to Jamaican police Vybes Kartel bribed a witness with 3 million Jamaican dollars to withhold information from the case. To make matters worse the accusation came directly from this DPP office. This was highlighted as the persecution struggles to locate the main witness who has missed court appearances.

If this keeps up Kartel may be a free man. After five consecutive delays the persecution has yet to try the case and this could be the break Kartel and his team are looking for. Could the video evidence the persecution claims to have be a hoax or fact? Only one way to know.

According to an Urban Islandz source:

“The prosecution does not have a case against the deejay and are buying time to scramble for evidence.”

The source added:

“They keep talking about evidence, but if there evidence is so strong why not try the case, why all this delay. Clearly they can’t keep their case together because we are demanding the judge release him on bail.”

The source also said Vybz Kartel and his lawyers are confident he will walk free in the end.

For some time rumors have been circulating claiming that Vybz Kartel had intimate relations with fellow dancehall artist Chuck Fenda’s baby mother name Georgina. The rumor may or may not be true but Kartel’s new single title “Georgina” is turning heads.

Urban Islandz sources said there is no real meaning behind the single.

“Its just another Vybz Kartel song so people should not label any meaning to it and stop spread rumors,” the source said.

A source of Chuck Fenda’s baby mother, declined to comment on that issue.

Vybz Kartel has been called many things but a Weapon trafficker?

Hmm according to Jamaican police The World Boss was neck high in this trafficking ring and that could be one of the reasons why he has yet to be granted bail.

During a hearing last Friday in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston, Jamaica’s Senior Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Jeremy Taylor argued that the charges laid against the dancehall star are very serious. His argument arose when Vybz Kartel’s lawyer, Tom Tavares-Finson, asked the judge to grant his client bail given the numerous delays and several outstanding disclosures involved in the case. Taylor informed the court about Kartel’s “dark side” claiming he was involved in an underground trade of weapons which lead the Clive Williams murder over a missing firearm involved in the trade. Taylor also told the court that Vybz Kartel attempted to bribe the main witness in the case for $3 million.

Meanwhile, Vybz Kartel's protege Shawn Storm was denied bail in the above mentioned court. Shawn’s lawyer Michael Lorne made an application for bail arguing that the defense has no evidence linking the dancehall star to Williams’ murder. However, Justice Sarah Thompson James denied the bail application saying there has been no change in circumstances.

Vybes Kartel remains in jail while co accused released on bail

One man might go free while the other stays in jail to await his faith.

This seems to be the order of the say as we continue to follow the Vybz Kartel‘s murder trial story.

Kartel‘s protégé Shawn Storm will return to court on June 10th where he is expected to be released on bail. Once freed he would become the second accused to be out on bail, while Vybz Kartel remains incarcerated until his new trial date in November. Moonie was released on bail earlier this year and has maintained his innocence.

Though it may seem a bit unfair that other co accused are let out on bail while others remain incarcerated, Kartel’s new attorney Tom Tavares-Finson has requested additional information from the Supreme court in relation to his bail application earlier this year.

If all goes well, his bail application could be reviewed with positive feedback, thus allowing the World Boss to be out on bail along with his co accused.

Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, is jointly charged along with Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Shane Williams, Kahira Jones, Stylist Calvin “Moonie” Haye, and Andre St John for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams”.

According to police report, Vybz Kartel and his co-accused beat Clive Williams to death at a home in Havendale in August 2011 over a missing firearm. Williams’ body has never been found.

Frustrated Vybz Kartel fires Lawyer

Vybz Kartel’s murder case was postponed once again.

The murder trial in relation to the death of Clive “Lizard” Williams involving the self proclaimed world boss and his accomplices was rescheduled for November 18th through to December 6th.

When the men reported to the Supreme Court in Jamaica yesterday May 27 th Supreme Court judge, Marjorie Cole-Smith informed them of the disappointing change.

A small group of Kartel supporters, who gathered outside the court house, became angry when they heard the case was rescheduled yet again.

“Them fi free Worl’Boss and stop plot to keep him lock up in them nasty jail,”one Kartel supporter told Urban Islandz reps.

The Romping Shop singer appeared quite frustrated as he even fired his lawyer Valerie Neita-Robertson and hire popular Jamaican attorney Tom Tavares-Finson. Tavares-Finson jumped right into his job, already requesting additional information on a bail application filed for the deejay earlier this year.

A source told Urban Islandz that Kartel is frustrated about the ongoing delays and will be issuing a statement to his fans soon.

“Addi is good still but at the end of the day he is a human and is clearly upset,” the source said. “He should be issuing a statement sometime soon to his fans because he know they are very concerned about the case.”

Police, who has yet to find Williams’ body, but claim they are in possession of video evidence implicating Vybz Kartel in the murder.

More legal woes for the "Gaza Camp''

Drama seems to be bubbling in the Vybz Kartel, Pim Pim and Gaza Slim conspiracy trial as yet another Female Jamaican Dancehall artiste voices her opinion in the open about her feelings.

Last week Veteran Dancehall diva Ce'Cile vented her feelings towards Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion when he said some unpleasant words about Bunny Wailer to media.

Ce'Cile took to Twitter and 'blaze afire' on Snoop, now it seems Gaza Slim is following suite, but she did it the good old fashioned way, on a Radio interview.

The three are jointly charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice and perverting the course of justice. As most persons may know by now, the conspiracy trial has been delayed yet again. The matter was mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates in Jamaica last Friday however, the trial failed to commence and was unfortunately postponed until July.

This is what Slim had to say to Irie FM, a Jamaican Radio station:

“Them just constantly putting it off and putting it off, but its god we put our trust in and not mankind so what is to be must be.”

One could hear and feel the frustration in her voice as she spoke. However Slim maintained that she will focus on her musical career and hopes that 'Addi Di Teacha' will be released soon.

Put Vybz Kartel's book in Jamaican schools?

Sounds weird but Dr. Carolyn Cooper, a professor of literary and cultural studies at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus wrote an interesting article in the Jamaican Gleaner last month leaning towards this.

The book entitled “The Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto,” was released last year by Vybz Kartel and as usual it stirred up controversy, but this one is a first.
 
Dr. Cooper is suggesting that The Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto be taught in Jamaican schools as part of the social studies program.

“The Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto should be read in and out of school,” Dr. Carolyn Cooper wrote. “It ought to be on the CXC Social Studies syllabus.

It raises complex issues of social justice in an accessible way. This book will engage the attention of every student, from Campion College to Gaza Secondary.”

Wondering why? Well according to Jamaica media the book is actually intellectual. In the book “Kartel'' speaks in depth on the many social and political issues affecting Jamaica.
 
Here's Excerpt from book:
“As strange as it may sound, I hope you do not enjoy this book. I hope it disturbs you. I hope after reading you realize there is something wrong with Jamaica that needs to be fixed. I hope you will never look at a ghetto person the same again.”

Though the book may have some good content due to the self-proclaimed World Boss’ vast reputation i.e murder case, vulgar lyrics content and skin bleaching just to name a few many, Jamaicans are contemplating whether they would like their children reading his work or not.

More trouble for Vybes Kartel

Di Teacher taught a lesson in jail?.

It is alleged by a good source that Vybz Kartel was attacked and beaten earlier this week in jail.

An inside source in law enforcement exclusively told Urban Islandz that the attackers are cronies of one of Kartels' alleged murder victim, Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.

Details of how they were arrested and placed in the same cell as Vybz Kartel was not revealed, but they are clearly furious with the Worl’Boss.

The source said,“Two youths stepped to him and ask him why him murder Lizard and Kartel say ‘why mi woulda waan kill Lizard,” “Things escalated Monday morning and a fight broke out but guards were able to calm things before it got out of hand”.

The source said that tensions had been high inside the jail ever since the two men arrived. Kartel was stabbed in the arm as a result of the rumble. He was rushed to hospital and is in stable condition. Kartel was charged with the Lizard’s murder in late 2011 and he is to return to court on May 27 2013.

They can expect to hear him back on the airwaves soon. No he hasn't been released from prison yet but rumor has it that Di Teacher will be dropping some never before heard singles, very soon.

According to Urban Islandz they're working on an upcoming album due this summer. 

"The album will see some unreleased never before heard singles, some ones that we recently released like “Mr. Bleach Chin” that’s tearing up the place, and we will have a couple of remixs. The end result will be about 20 tracks"

Although there is no release date or title for the new Vybz Kartel album fans can look out for some new singles soon.

Well according to this photo it will appear that way as it is clearly not photo-shopped, however there is just one problem, that's not the real Vybz Kartel . 

Hate to burst your bubble but according to a source of Urban Islandz this person is nothing more than a Kartel wanna be ie "he's a Look Alike."

While this guy has a striking resemblance to Vybz Kartel and he is behind a bar, rest assure he is not "De Teacher" and that is not Vybz Kartel jail cell.

This guy is a former contestant on Tastee Talent Trail.

It would be great to see Black Ryno visit Vybz Kartel in jail and end their beef, but that might not happen anytime soon, not after their bitter fallout in 2010.
