Scratching the surface with a little pre show Gossip we have Justin Bieber and Selina Gomez
Rumors surfaced that Justin and Salena had a pre Billboard Award date while in Vegas. According to E! the somewhat on again off again couple attended a late show performance of Love by Cirque du Soleil at the Mirange in Las Vegas
Now here's the actual count down
10) Bruno Mars took everyone back a couple years with his performance of Treasure, Micheal Jackson would have been proud of this performance.
Could you picture the king of pop in the front row nodding his head and smiling. RIP Micheal...
9) Chris brown's performance of Fine china: he admitted he had an off night vocally but he rocked his performance with an exciting array of dance moves, some of which bore a striking resemblance to that of the above mentioned king of pop Micheal Jackson.
8) As expected Talor Swift swept through the show winning 8 Billboard Awards. Swift recieved the nights top honors, Artist of the year, as well as Top Billboard 20 Artist, Top female Artist, Top Country Artist and Top Digital Songs Artist. "Red" was Top in the Billboard 200 and Country =; "We are never getting back together" was named Top Country song.
7)Bajan Born pop star Rihanna walked away with four awards, winning in the R&B Artist, album and song categories, plus Radio Song Artist.
6) Talor Swift makes the list again with her playful performance
Here comes the cool stuff...
5) Justin Bieber had a well received performance as fans screamed in excitement during his set.
4)Prince took home the Icon Award and celebrated his honor with a performance medley of songs "Lets Go Crazy and Fix Ur Life Up"
Now we get into the really hot stuff!
3)Who say you need to go to a strip club to get a lap dance.....when you're as big a celebrity as Lil Wayne, lap dances come to you, and not just any ordinary stripper. Trinidadian born rapper Nicki Manaj threw it down during her performance of "High School" leaving fans and Lil Weezy in amazement. The expression on his face alone spoke for itself.
2) Justin Bieber was booed while receiving the first ever Milestone Award....Huh? Sad but true as we all know there were some cheers though but the confusing thing is that fans were screaming and cheering during his performance yet booed him while collecting an award. "Tough Crowd." Backstage Cee Lo Green who presented Bieber with the award said the Bieb is a great sport and he didn't appreciate the boos that much.
1)As if we all didnt know what it was.....This was probably the most epic miss of 2013 this far.
During his performance of "Adorn" Miguel leaped across an audience pit and landed butt first, halfway on a fan and the stage. Judging from the way that jump looked, it seemed as if he had a decision to make while in mid air, "should he jump and land on a fan or jump too far, miss the stage and land on the ground."
Nonetheless Miguel was very concerned about the victim as he took her backstage to tend to her. During an interview backstage Miguel introduced Kyati who was the unfortunate victim and said he couldn't focus clearly during the interview as he was worried about her. The female fan was all smiles and didn't seem to be bothered despite holding an ice pack on her arm.
Bad news first, as if you all didn't know Lil Tunechi, was dropped from his endorsement deal with Pepsi Co due to an offensive line in one of his rap's.
Now on to some good news, Lil Wayne has just launched his Spectre by Supra footwear line as part of his endorsement deal with the skating brand.
The rapper was joined by his manager Cortez Bryant, Young Money president Mack Maine, fellow rapper Bun B, and pro skateboarder Stevie Williams, at the launch party, which was held at an indoor ramp in Miami over the weekend.
Weezy told MTV “I’ve been rocking this shoe before I even knew what it was, so for me to start skating now and shoe lines start coming at me, it would've been only right to mess with the people I been rocking with.”
The family of Emmett Till is calling for his removal from Mountain Dew's endorsement deals.
All this because of an offensive line in one of his tracks.
For those who didn't know, Till was a 14-year-old African American teenager who was brutally murdered by white men while visiting his relatives in Mississippi in 1955.
Wayne has been targeted by the family over his verse on Future‘s “Karate Chop” remix. On the song, Weezy threatens to “Beat the p***y up like Emmett Till,” referencing the fatal attack on Till.
Wayne actually never apologized for the line, but Future’s label, Epic Records, did issue an apology and edited the song. However it still leaked and can be sporadically heard around the country.
Weezy subsequently issued a formal apology stating:
“Dear Till Family:
As a recording artist, I have always been interested in word play. My lyrics often reference people, places and events in my music, as well as the music that I create for or alongside other artists.
It has come to my attention that lyrics from my contribution to a fellow artist’s song has deeply offended your family. As a father myself, I cannot imagine the pain that your family has had to endure. I would like to take a moment to acknowledge your hurt, as well as the letter you sent to me via your attorneys.
Moving forward, I will not use or reference Emmett Till or the Till family in my music, especially in an inappropriate manner. I fully support Epic Record’s decision to take down the unauthorized version of the song and to not include the reference in the version that went to retail. I will not be performing the lyrics that contain that reference live and have removed them from my catalogue.
I have tremendous respect for those who paved the way for the liberty and opportunities that African-Americans currently enjoy. As a business owner who employs several African-American employees and gives philanthropically to organizations that help youth to pursue their dreams my ultimate intention is to uplift rather than degrade our community.
It may
be a while before Lil Wayne returns to Miami’s King of Diamonds club. According
to Vlad TV, Weezy was escorted out of the club Monday night (April 8) after a
confrontation with Trick Daddy escalated into a scuffle.
Apparently pissed that Tunechi hadn’t “checked in” prior to the engagement, as
he was warned to do after his now infamous “F—k Miami” rant and subsequent
unapologetic stance on his comments about the Miami Heat, Trick Daddy, the
self-professed “Mayor of Dade County,” reportedly entered the striptease
establishment with 40-50 fellow Miamians in tow, looking to confront Lil Wayne.
The face-to-face encounter between the two rappers spiraled out of control,
though, after Daddy Dollars allegedly threw a cigarette in Wayne’s face.
Weezy, along with YMCMB president Mack Maine, were tapped to host the grand
reopening of KOD, which had recently upgraded its interior with a new LED
lighting system and various other bells and whistles.
Neither party has taken to Twitter to comment on the situation but KOD did try
to diffuse the rumor, tweeting, "YMCMB in the Building!!!!! No
worries...," which prompted the following response from @KOD_miami, “trick
daddy in the house n----s betta watch they mouth! #slipnslide #f---lilwayne
#f---kod #tootsiesallday.”
Trick’s no tolerance policy against Wayne stems from the comments he made to 99
JAMZ radio station back in February after the "How To Love" rapper
made no apologies for his anti-Miami rant.
“If anybody don’t like it they can die tonight,” Trick said. “I don’t care who
be offended by what I say. I rep my city and want nobody disrespecting. We’ve
got to stick together as radio, as artists, as DJs and fans who love the music
as a whole. That’s what makes a community. Me and Luke been talking, we've been
getting together, we're going to find out some type of way to get this thing
back on the road -- I can't go nowhere else, this is my home. So from now on,
when they get here, they're going to have to start checking in.”
